Community Reviews. Showing It's akin to firing a gun which makes a compass think north is east, not only is it nonsensical but the way this is written it makes it sound like a ship containing people like that would be completely without shields or even ability to travel through the warp which would have screwed over the Sisters of Silence in the past, not to mention any ship carrying a Culexus Assassin.
I also can't figure out why it affects faith, I get that Celestine's warp empowered now so if the Immaterium starts fading she'll grow weaker, but Abaddon's daemons vanish, his possessed die, his warmachines grow silent, which makes the Imperials lose faith and lose hope at the chance of any victory, while at the same time Abaddon's forces become even more sure of their own victory.
Either the pylons affect faith in an incredibly stupid move to say that all faith comes from the Immaterium, or it doesn't affect faith and the book has incredibly bad writing for this one part that makes it unclear. This part about it affecting faith or faith declining in general didn't even need to be written, because it doesn't do anything.
Abaddon beats the weakened Celestine, and then she's saved by everyone around her Now the most important thing is how teleporters stopped working.
This one's important, because it means that Abaddon can't do something stupid like order newly installed engines aboard the Will of Eternity to engage, causing debris from the Blackstone Fortress to hit the planet because he'd be at serious risk of killing himself. Fortunately he teleports away This one's just like in Mont'ka where they say the AdMech wrecked the weather controls for the planet, and then immediately afterwards the Tau are using the perfectly functional weather controls to their advantage without repairing them, and the solution's really simple.
All you need to do if for whatever reason you really wanted to keep Abaddon's fight on the planet is explain that the pylons run deep underground, have the Will of Eternity hit the other side of the planet, and then when the pylons are destroyed by the tremors rocking the planet you have him teleport away. Also get rid of that bit about how the warp immediately spilled out. That was just dumb, let it spread naturally or let Abaddon direct it as was the idea with the Crimson Path, otherwise Abaddon's just giving up the entire galaxy to the gods whom he doesn't like, and basically trying to do exactly what Horus did.
Something interesting to note is apparently the AdMech know what the Curse of the Wulfen is the curse is mentioned as a citation but it's in one of those reports in the section Fall of Cadia. Apparently Logan forgot to pick up a number of the 13th Company so they're just showing up wherever.
I'm honestly not sure what purpose the reports serve. They don't add to the battle, they're not meant to build up to anything as they would in the Imperial Armour books and they're never really given any resolution. The ending's a put forced too, Cawl has something that he considers so precious he's willing to wait to let his Ark help guard the rear of the fleeing fleet?
Why wouldn't they all just leave at the same time, especially if what's in the stasis chamber presumably a Primarch, I'm guessing Corax is so important?
That's a bit iffy, even if it wasn't for the one-in-a-million shot that managed to cripple his ship. There's another easy way to fix this, Cawl ended up getting the stasis chamber from the Dark Eldar fighting Word Bearers, so why not have the Dark Eldar loot it instead make Cawl really want to take it back , then have Eldrad tell them to place it on the moon because he knows Celestine's going to have visions telling her to go there, and with the stasis chamber as incentive Cawl would be chomping at the bit to go to the moon anyway.
Have Abaddon realize what's happening when they change course for the moon, have his sorcerer realize then what's on there, and have him cripple the Ark while they're trying to retrieve the stasis chamber. When Cawl and the others arrive the Eldar or Aeldari, however you want to call them can offer the stasis chamber as an offering of peace, on top of saving the Imperials.
Now this was the final part in that comment, there's a lot of lore to cover and I'm honestly happy that there is, rather than a book saddled with nothing but repeated artwork and filler pages. Excellent review, pointing out most of the same shortcomings that struck me. I am amazed how they pretty much skipped the battle for Cadia, just telling you it happened. I feel that would have been a far more interesting story, what happened in this book seemed like a less interesting sequel.
It just seems like lazy writing. They knew it would be difficult to write about a truly global conflict let alone galactic , so they just told you it happened, and then said there was only enough to defend a single Hive city. It dramatically reduced the scope of the conflict and made it seem like it did not matter. When this should have been one of the most important battles since the Horus Heresy. Edit: Also looking for the gathering storm. Please find below a few extracts from papers or books dealing with Assyrian continuity.
Probably some of us are already familiar with some of the papers. But I think it's still good to share and google might index this post.
It's quite a long post and probably deserved multiple posts and proper english, but it is worth it for many of us interested in our history and I hope some will be inspired and update the wikipedia pages about our people, anyway You know what doesn't suck?

Googling arround I found some links to the GW store or the Black Library page but both show me errors.
